W końcu pojawiły się jakieś wieści w temacie ujednoliconych kont na maszynkach od Nintendo. Niestety nie są to optymistyczne nowiny. Big N boryka się z problemem z zamianą kont przypisanych do konsoli na konta ogólne, których można by używać zarówno na 3DSie jak i Wii U. Oto słowa jednej z szych z NoE, Scotta Moffitta:
If you look at the account system, the network ID system that exists now on Wii U, that’s an effort for us to move beyond a device-centric approach to an account-centric approach. But we haven’t done it on the handheld side of the business at this point. We hear that feedback. We hear that criticism, or whatever you want to call it, from time to time. We’re not blind to it. But it’s not something we’ve solved.

Nintendo potwierdziło, że najnowsze wcielenie trzydeesa w postaci 2DS jest skierowane do najmłodszych odbiorców, którzy nie przekroczyli jeszcze siódmego roku życia. A wytłumaczył te posunięcie Reggie Fils-Aime:
We’re always thinking about what we can do that’s new, unique, different, and brings more people into this category that we love. And so with the Nintendo 3DS, we were clear to parents that, ‘hey, we recommend that your children be seven and older to utilize this device.’ So clearly that creates an opportunity for five-year-olds, six-year-olds, that first-time handheld gaming consumer.
We’ve always been thinking about, ‘how do we approach that as one target?’ And that certainly helped spur the idea of the Nintendo 2DS. Let’s have the consumer have access to all of these great games – Mario Kart 7, Animal Crossing – but do it in a 2D capability with a device that has a dramatically lower price point. That’s just an example of how we’re always thinking about, ‘how do we get more people playing games? How do we get more people playing Nintendo games?’
Square-Enix zarejestrowało nazwę Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call. Doczekamy się kolejnej części muzycznego fajnala? Ewentualnie może to być specjalne wydanie klasycznego Theatrhythm wraz z wszystkimi dodatkowymi utworami, które można było zakupić w sklepie. Jest też trzecia, najgorsza opcja – doczekamy się jakieś popierdółki na komórki. A tego posiadacze 3DSów pewnie by nie chcieli.
